It was a beautiful day to finally get out with a group of fellow plein air painters. We were welcome onto private property so that we could spend the afternoon painting the view of the Hudson River Valley and the distant Catskill Mountain range.

part of working outdoors to paint, one must be prepared for all kinds of weather situations. on this day, a strong blustery wind kicked up from across the river, causing a large tree limb to come crashing down. fortunately for all of us, no one had decided to set up their easel in that location.
